Romance Recap - Killer in Wolf's Clothing and The Viking's Witch

Hi everyone!

For my last blog of the year, I'm sharing a look back at my 2012 romances, Killer in Wolf’s Clothing and The Viking’s Witch. Although these books were released within two weeks of each other, they're at both ends of the spectrum. Killer in Wolf’sClothing (Amber Quill Press) is an erotic gay paranormal and The Viking’s Witch (Medallion Press) is a traditional historical.

As most people already know, I write romances in every genre and at every heat level. I enjoy exploring different time periods (as I did in my Amber Quill Press fantasy, The Pauper Prince), plots (Beauty & the Bigfoot, a paranormal /comedy) and characters (the world of pro wrestling in A Perfect Match). Each book and set of characters becomes an adventure for me as a writer. I never really know what time period or plot I’ll be exploring next.

So what's in store for 2013? I haven't decided yet! I'm toying with several ideas for a historical and a paranormal. I may even write a third book to follow up A Midsummer Night's Delights and A Midwinter Night's Delights.
As we celebrate the last few weeks of the year, here's a summary & excerpt from my romances. If you'd like to learn more about these books, read reviews (both books got 4 & 5 star reviews!), or catch up on my other romances I mentioned in this blog, visit my brand new website:

Killer in Wolf’s Clothing

A super aggressive Alpha male, a serial killer, and a visit to a kinky sex club…What has Larry gotten himself into?

When Larry learns that his boyfriend Greg changes into another man during the full moon, he has a hard time accepting it—until he meets Deke, Greg’s alternate Alpha personality.

Deke doesn’t play nice and has no time for games. He only wants two things—to get laid and to get revenge against the arsonist who murdered his friends. Finally free from Greg’s restraints, Deke is ready for action, and Larry is more than willing to submit to Deke’s needs.

Together, Larry and Deke set out to find the killer. Their hunt takes them to an all-night Alpha sex club where things heat up for the two of them. But when Larry unwittingly falls into the clutches of the murderer, it’s up to Deke—and Greg—to save him before it’s too late.

The excerpt:

Larry lay down on his side, facing Deke. Up close, the musky, manly scent was stronger, and his heart beat faster. What did Deke have in mind? “Now what?”

“This.” Deke leaned forward and kissed him hard on the mouth. Deke’s rough, stubbled chin grazed his cheek, and he tensed for a second. Deke kissed him again, hot, needy and insistent. Larry felt himself giving in. He wanted this; he wanted Deke to take charge. He smelled so good he’d let Deke do whatever he wanted.

Deke’s tongue plunged into his mouth and Larry kissed him back, desperately craving more. They kissed for a few minutes, teasing each other with their tongues. Just when things were heating up, Deke pulled away.

“I knew you’d like it. You act like you don’t want to be my love slave, but you do, I can tell.”

Larry pursed his lips. How did Deke know? When he and Greg played their games, he wanted Greg to take charge, but he never did. Deke wouldn’t hesitate about taking over—and he was more than willing to let him.

About to be burned at the stake by her fellow villagers, Odaria does what any betrayed witch facing certain death would do. She calls down a curse. Within seconds, rampaging Norsemen raid the village, capturing everyone except her.

But her reprieve is short-lived, and Odaria lands in the clutches of the Norse leader Rothgar. Can she remain true to herself and fight her growing attraction to this domineering man, or will she fall under his influence and be used for his ambitions?

After Rothgar witnesses Odaria’s powers firsthand, he strikes a bargain with her. The raven-haired beauty will use her magical abilities to help him with his quest in exchange for safe passage off the isle. But can this cunning woman be trusted, or is she using him to exact vengeance on her village?

Together they must fight bloodthirsty villagers, battle a mutinous band of Norsemen, find a missing Norse ship, and learn to trust each other . . . before time is up.

The Excerpt:

Odaria scanned the cookroom and spotted a large table piled high with food. Brennan must have been planning a feast to celebrate her death. There would be plenty of meat and beer in the underground storage area. Men liked to eat. The Norsemen must be hungry from their long journey. Mayhap she could offer Rothgar a meal and strike a bargain with him.

“Are you hungry?” she asked, cocking her head. “I know where to find food and drink, wood for the fire, clean water, and—”

Rothgar inched closer to her. She tried to move away, but she had nowhere to go. Her back was pressed against the door. Rothgar grinned and cupped her chin in his wide hand. Her heart fluttered. What was he doing? She stared into his eyes as he bowed his head. His rough beard grazed her cheek as his lips lightly brushed against hers.

Her entire body tingled, and a wave of dizziness washed over her. The room spun and seemed to grow dim. As everything faded, she had a clear vision of wrapping her arms around Rothgar’s neck and eagerly pulling him close for a kiss. Dizzy, she pitched forward. Rothgar caught her and clutched her to his chest.

“Shh,” he soothed, running his hand through her loose hair. “I will not harm you, Odaria.”

I hope everyone will check them out and let me know what they think. I always enjoy hearing from readers and love to know which books (or characters) are their favorites.

See you in 2013!

2 Nights of Delights & Blog Contest Details

Hi everyone!

My blog contest starts today (Dec. 2) and runs through Dec. 22, 2012. To be entered to win a PDF copy of my fantasy novella, A MidsummerNight’s Delights, all you need to do is sign up and follow my blog: If you’re already following my blog, or would like to double your entries, comment on this blog post and increase your chances of winning.

This post is centered on two of my Amber Quill Press fantasy romances, A Midsummer Night’s Delights and A Midwinter Night’s Delights.

A Midsummer Night’s Delights introduced readers to repressed newlyweds, Julian and Annabelle. They were strangers trapped in an arranged, sexless marriage. To loosen them up, Julian’s father sends them to the Marquis of Demby’s estate to attend a Midsummer Ball. (And this type of ball isn’t for dancing!)

Julian and Annabelle meet the Marquis, Vincent, and his wife, Sabrina. Over the course of their visit, they learn how to open up and explore their sexuality. When they attend the Midsummer Ball, they shed their inhibitions while indulging in their wildest fantasies.

A Midwinter Night’s Delights picks up six months after the first book. (If you haven’t read the first story, that’s okay – each novella stands alone as an individual read. And yes, this book is just as hot – if not hotter – than the first one!)

In the sequel, we discover that Annabelle and Julian have taken what they’ve learned and gone wild. Ever since the summer ball, they have been overindulging in all sorts of lewd activities. Instead of being shy and repressed, they are more than eager to give in to their desires whenever (and wherever) the mood strikes – even if it’s at a formal dinner party. Needless to say, Julian’s father sends them back to Vincent’s estate to be disciplined and learn self-control.

A Midwinter Night’s Delights is more intense than the first book. From the outset, readers know that Julian and Annabelle are being disciplined – but it’s all for their own good. I sprinkled in some B/D/S/M throughout the story (and at the ball) to make things interesting. It was fun to explore a different side to the games that take place at the estate house and watch how the characters reacted as they received their ‘punishments’ throughout the book.

After the release of A Midsummer Night’s Delights, some readers asked for prequel – they wanted to know how Vincent and Sabrina met and what their history entailed. I gave readers what they wanted. In A MidwinterNight’s Delights, Sabrina tells Annabelle how she met Vincent and how they got involved in their naughty games.

So, will there be a third book? Maybe. And that’s the point of this blog! I want to know what readers think. Should I write a final chapter in the saga? Would you like to read more about these characters? If so, what would you like to see happen in the story? More same-sex encounters? S&M? A change of setting? Have Lono and Lobo (two new characters I introduced) unmask and share their own backstory? The possibilities are endless!

Add your comments to this blog and I’ll pick a contest winner on Dec. 23rd. (Be sure your profile or comment includes an email address so I can contact you.)

Hot excerpts and reviews are on the books’ buy pages and on my website:

Happy Reading!

Until next time,
