Spend FOUR DAYS WITH JACK - hot new Amber Allure release!

Hi everyone!

I’m pleased to announce the release of my new book, Four Days with Jack. Although this is my 13th Amber Quill Press romance, it’s my first gay romance for Amber Allure. Today I’m sharing some background about the book and a hot excerpt!

Since this is my first gay romance, readers may be wondering – why a gay romance now? What sparked the change in genres?

Up until now, I’ve written straight contemporaries, historical/fantasies, and paranormals of varying heat levels. Some books are scorching-hot and include storylines with multiple partners (A Midsummer Night’s Delights), while some are focused exclusively on a M/F relationship (Trust with Hearts). When I write, I let the story and characters take me wherever the plot leads. In the case of Four Days with Jack, it led to a tropical resort!

I always knew that one day I’d write a gay romance, and I’ve been batting ideas around in my head for a while. I was in between books and had just finished editing A Perfect Match when I heard about the Amber Allure “Postcards from Paradise” line, and I knew I had my next project.

At first, I didn’t know what the story would be. All I had was a basic plot (straight guy comes out to his gay best friend), a title, and one pivotal scene that takes place in a bathroom. (For those of you who have read the book, you know which scene I’m talking about – but I won’t give it away here.) From there, I let my imagination wander and came up with the resort, the rest of the plot, and the unusual cast of characters that Jack and David encounter.

Four Days with Jack is one of the very few books I wrote without an outline. I think not having an outline let the characters write their own story (so to speak), and took the book in new directions. Over four days, David and Jack learn a lot about themselves, each other, and what sacrifices they’ll make to stay together.

I like the story, and I hope readers will, too. It’s got a good blend of humor, drama, and plenty of sizzling love scenes that will heat up your summer!

Here’s a short summary and a hot excerpt:

FOUR DAYS WITH JACK

When David invited his best friend along on vacation, he never expected them to fall in love…

Spending four days in a tropical paradise with Jack is a dream come true. For years, David lived a lie and denied his attraction to Jack. Now that they’re together in an isolated Caribbean resort, he finally sheds his denial and admits what he really wants—to be Jack’s lover.

Jack is more than willing to introduce David to the life he has always fantasized about. Their sizzling nighttime encounters confirm David’s long-hidden desires. But what will happen when they leave the resort? Will David sacrifice everything to start a new life with Jack? Or will he go back to his old ways and risk losing the best friend he ever had?

***

David opened his eyes and saw Jack squirm as Ricardo massaged his shoulders. Jack was nude except for a white towel draped across his buttocks. He was glad Jack had convinced him to get naked, too. It made him feel wild and free—and naughty. After all, it wasn’t every day that a cute guy gave him a hot oil massage.
His masseur, Philippe, rubbed his back once more, then quietly announced. “That’s one hour, gentlemen.”
David raised his head and looked at him.
“You have the cabana until four o’clock. When your time expires, this beeper will go off.” Philippe set a small plastic pager on the table next to him.
“Thanks. Could you guys close the curtains on your way out?” Jack asked. “I’m going to take a nap.”
“Certainly.”
David watched as they closed the blue and white striped curtains. Did Jack really want to sleep? He doubted he would have gone to all this trouble to have an outdoor nap.
He sighed. “I could get used to this every day. My muscles feel like jelly.”
“Mine too.” Jack paused. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“Are you horny?”
“After being fondled for an hour by Philippe? Of course.”
“Your turn,” Jack said.
“Truth or dare?”
“Dare,” Jack answered.
“I dare you to take off your towel.”
Jack flipped over and opened the towel, exposing his erect cock.
“Nice.” Hard, pink, thick. Looking at it sparked a craving deep inside him. “You think those massage guys are gay?”
“I don’t know. This is their job, so I guess they get used to touching people. I wonder what they’d do if they got a boner, though.”
He chuckled. “Can you imagine massaging a guy’s half-naked wife and getting a hard-on while the husband’s there?”
“I think that’s the plot to about five hundred pornos.”
He gestured at Jack’s dick. “What do we do about that?”
Jack sat up halfway and braced himself on his arms. “I bet you’d like to suck it, wouldn’t you?”
“Of course. But what about mine?” He rolled onto his side and pulled his towel off, displaying his own erection.
“Come here and I’ll take a look.” Jack waved him over and he hopped off his massage table. What did Jack have in mind?
Jack stood and gathered him into his arms. They pressed their bodies together, their cocks touching. Jack kissed him, then thrust his hot tongue into his mouth.
He moaned as Jack trailed his hands all over his naked body. Jack caressed his ass, then reached between his legs and cupped his sac. They kept kissing, tongues entwined, pausing only long enough to take a breath.
Just when things were getting hot and heavy, Jack released him and lay on the table. “Climb on.”
He scowled. “What do you mean?”
“Haven’t you ever done sixty-nine?”
“No,” he admitted quietly.
“You’ll love it. Put one knee on each side of my head, then go down until your mouth reaches my cock.”
“Are you sure we should?” He glanced at the thin, linen curtains. They were all that shielded them from the outside world. “What if someone walks by and hears us?”
“We’ll be quiet. Besides, our mouths will be full.”
“I don’t know…” Fooling around with Jack behind closed doors was one thing, but out here, in public… If anyone caught them in the act, he’d die of embarrassment.
“Don’t worry.” Jack patted his balls, making him jump. “The guy I rented this from practically told me that’s what these are for. When I made the reservation, I heard a woman having an orgasm, for Christ’s sake. So come on, live a little and enjoy.”
He gave in. Why not? He was here to have fun with Jack and enjoy his vacation. And besides…his cock throbbed for attention.

I’ll be blogging about the book again in June!
Until then, happy reading!

Spend FOUR DAYS WITH JACK this weekend!! HOT new romance release from AQP author Kelli Wilkins

Hi everyone,

My new Amber Quill Press 'Amber Allure' romance, Four Days with Jack comes out on Sunday, May 22. It's a HOT contemporary gay romance set in a tropical resort.

Here's a bit about the book:

Here are two (tame) excerpts:

“Wake up.”

David jolted awake. Someone was shaking his leg. He blinked a few times, trying to orient himself. He was sitting, yet it felt like he was moving. After a second, he remembered. The plane. Vacation. Jack.

“You okay? You were talking in your sleep,” Jack said.

David shook his head and the dream faded. Jack’s left hand rested on his thigh. He made no attempt to move it. The heat from Jack’s palm pulsed through his cargo shorts.

“I was dreaming.”

Jack chuckled and gestured at his crotch. “Must have been a good one.”

He glanced down. His shorts bulged out in front, his erection obvious. Shit! He pulled the cheap airline blanket across his lap. “How long before we land?”

“About a half hour.”

He relaxed back in the seat. Soon, they would be on a sunny Caribbean island, far away from rainy, gray Philadelphia and everyone they knew. They could do whatever they wanted for the next four days and three nights. He smiled. Four days with Jack. His secret love—his secret shame.

“I’m sorry about Christmas,” he blurted out.

Jack’s blue eyes locked on to his. “Christmas? That was three months ago. You had to go to dinner at Allison’s parents’ place. It was no big deal.”

“I don’t mean dinner.” He took a deep breath. Say it. Get it out in the open. “What you wanted…your present.” He looked out the window, afraid to face Jack. Confessing this would open the door to everything. “You know, you asked me for that and I…didn’t give it to you.”

***

David popped open the champagne and poured them each a glass. “A toast. To us. To our new beginning.”

“To us,” he said, clinking David’s glass and taking a sip of champagne. The bubbles tickled his nose. “This is excellent, nice and sweet.”

“Like you.” David set his glass on the cart and gathered him into his arms. “I want to prove how much I love you. How much I’ve always loved you.”

Jack closed his eyes as David kissed him. It was gentle, tender, and made his skin tingle. David really did love him, and he was thrilled that he was opening up about it. David kissed him a few more times, then picked up the bowl of strawberries. “Hungry?”

He opened his mouth as David fed him the sweet fruit. His taste buds came alive, and he sucked on David’s fingertips as he pulled away.

“My turn,” David said.

He took a strawberry and ran it along David’s lips. David’s tongue darted out and licked a droplet of juice off the end of the strawberry. He wrapped his lips around it and sucked it from his fingers.

Jack grinned. “Lovely.”

They took turns feeding each other the tangy fruit and washing it down with champagne. After their third glass, his head started to buzz. “I think I’m getting drunk.”

“Good,” David said, drawing him into his arms for a kiss.

They kissed tenderly at first, then gave in to their passion. He groaned and kissed David deeper, aching and yearning for more. David’s hot mouth tasted like strawberries and champagne.

David bent his head and kissed the soft spot on the side of his neck. “Tell me what you like,” he said, grinding his erection against him. “Let me know it’s right.”

“You’re doing fine,” he replied, yanking David closer. He kissed him hard and plunged his tongue into his mouth. Kissing was fine, but he wanted more.

“Why don’t we go to bed?”

“No. Not yet.” David stepped back. “Tonight will be different. Tonight I plan on seducing you.”

He closed his eyes. “Go right ahead. I’m all yours.”

A Perfect Match Reviews & Preview of Four Days with Jack!

Hi everyone!

Today, I'm sharing three great reviews for A PERFECT MATCH and links to two new interviews. I'm also offering a sneak peek at my upcoming May 22 release, FOUR DAYS WITH JACK.

Enjoy!

“5 stars! Kelli A Wilkins’ A Perfect Match is one of the best books I read in awhile. It’s romantic, sweet and HOT!! Vin and Danni have it bad for each other and once they both give into their passion, its hot and heavy. I really enjoyed this book, it has a great storyline and I loved all the characters.” – Wanda, Reviewer, Romance Writers Reviews

“4 stars! A Perfect Match is a how-to manual of what goes on in the professional wrestling world. I found it fascinating. You don’t need to know or like the sport to enjoy this tender, yet fierce love story, with a ‘HEA for now’ ending. I hope you like it as much as I did.” – Patrizia M., Reviewer, Manic Readers

“Kelli A. Wilkins writes a daring romance. She gives her readers ringside seats to a spectacularly sexy main event. Danni may have her reasons for being deceitful, but her treachery will not allow her to obtain what she honestly wants. Vinnie may be on his way out, but he will not surrender without the fight of his life. Together, they create a tag team that cannot easily be defeated. Ms. Wilkins certainly pins her readers and keeps them down for the count. I definitely could not stop reading once I was caught firmly in the grasp of the entangling romance. A PERFECT MATCH throws out all the rules and shows just how no-holds-barred love can be. This was a fun, fast, and feisty tale.” Melissa K., Reviewer, Noveltalk

The Royal Desires Trilogy - Three Fun Fantasy Reads!

Hi everyone,

First, I'd like to invite everyone to check out my recently updated author page at Amazon.com. All of my romances are on the page and the page also gets automatic feeds from my blog and Tweets!

Today, I'm sharing an inside look at three of my fantasy romances.

Someone recently asked me how I plotted my “Royal Desires” trilogy: A Most Unusual Princess, Dalton’s Temptation, and The Pauper Prince. Did I use note cards to keep track of each character’s description? Did I make an overall outline of the whole trilogy, and then write each book?

Nope. The truth is… I just wrote the story that was in my head. I didn’t intend to write a trilogy – it kinda happened on its own. (With a lot of typing on my part, of course!) I wrote each book by itself, with its own setting and theme, apart from the book that came before. So, although they make up a series, each book can stand alone as an individual read.

I specifically wrote A Most Unusual Princess for the Amber Quill Press “Amber Heat” contest. The book won (along with two others, The Dark Lord & The Sexy Stranger). Although the Fantasy genre wasn’t something I had written in before, I liked the idea of following a very headstrong and spoiled Princess Elara as she looked for a suitable husband.

The story was fun to write and I enjoyed contrasting Elara’s moodiness with her sensual feelings for Dalton. And poor Dalton! By the end of A Most Unusual Princess, I knew he had to have his own story, so I followed up with Dalton’s Temptation.

In Dalton’s Temptation, I deliberately focused on the theme of fidelity. Elara wants to test Dalton’s loyalty, so she masquerades as a sultry girl in a pleasure palace. Naturally, she gets in over her head and into trouble. I enjoyed taking Elara out of her element and giving her new challenges and experiences. We also got to see a different side to Dalton’s character and learned about his weaknesses and desires.

Dalton’s Temptation also introduced us to Elara’s brother, Prince Allan. What a pip! He’s a perfect example of a secondary character who tries to run away with the story.

While writing Dalton’s Temptation, I knew Allan needed his own book, and The Pauper Prince was born.

In The Pauper Prince, Allan is banished to live the life of a commoner. His life has been turned upside down. He’s broke, miserable, and forced to endure abuse at his job in the shipyard.

Allan’s character undergoes a complete transformation between Dalton’s Temptation and The Pauper Prince. Once a carefree womanizer, Allan discovers a secret side to himself and through his relationship with Claudette, he learns a lesson about what is truly important in life. A more settled Elara and Dalton also appear in the book and help wind up the trilogy.

I enjoyed writing each of these books. It was fun to create the characters, give them unique adventures, and complicate their lives – all in the name of love. Although these are spicy romances, there’s enough drama, sadness, and humor to keep readers entertained and enthralled. But don’t just take my word for it. Here’s what a few reviewers had to say:

A Most Unusual Princess is an amusing book that will seize your attention from the first word. Elara is a woman who wants to get married on her own terms, not those set by her father. The growing attraction and love between Elara and Dalton carry this sweet story. Ms. Wilkins has created appealing characters that will touch your heart.” - Tewanda, Fallen Angel Reviews

“I thought the first book [A Most Unusual Princess] was hot, but Dalton’s Temptation is worth reading. Kelli A. Wilkins did a superb job in this one and introduces us to a new side of Dalton. The beginning was just about Princess Elara, and this time we learn more of Dalton. I loved this story and it’s hard for me to give a Historical Erotica a 5 for the first part and a sequel but Kelli Wilkins did a beautiful job in showing us a princess with stubborn heart to love and a man who completes her in every way." - Lena, Reviewer, Mybookcravings.com

Kelli A. Wilkins finishes her trilogy of books, which started with A Most Unusual Princess and Dalton’s Temptation, with a bang. The Pauper Prince is a riveting tale, and it is a must read for anyone who enjoys fantasy Romance. It is stuffed full of action, love, excitement, sedition, and scurvy characters that are set to make our prince’s life miserable if he lets them. Skillful crafting allows the reader to slip under the spell of Allan and live his every ache, pain, and triumph. The Pauper Prince is a real must read, and in case you haven’t read the others, I would suggest you get A Most Unusual Princess and Dalton’s Temptation, too. Kelli has definitely written a trio of must buys for Amber Quill!!!"- Rose, Reviewer, Romance at Heart

Happy Reading!
