Kelli's Quill Newsletter - Leap Year Issue

Kelli’s Quill
Leap Year Issue!
February 2016

Hi everyone,
In this issue, I’m sharing some special news about my Amber Quill Press romances, links to my horror fiction on new platforms, an interview, and more. Let’s get started!
Breaking Romance News
In spring 2016 I’m planning to re-release several of my Amber Quill Press romances. Why the re-release? Well, unfortunately, Amber Quill will cease publishing ebooks as of March 30, 2016. I’ve had a fantastic run with them over the last 10 years, and I’ve created some unique characters and great books.

But don’t worry, I’m not parting with my fictional children. All of my Amber Quill ebooks will be republished on Amazon and other platforms in 2016 and 2017. Stay tuned to my website, blog, social media, and (of course!) this newsletter for more information.

First up in the re-release department is the Royal Desires trilogy. This series of historical/fantasy romances is comprised of A Most Unusual Princess, Dalton’s Temptation, and The Pauper Prince. The books will be re-edited, re-titled, and released on Amazon Kindle with hot new covers.

You’ll still be able to purchase most of my Amber Quill titles on Amazon until March 30, 2016. Visit my Amazon author page to see the full title list:

Get Dead Til Dawn... on More Platforms

My horror novella, Dead Til Dawn is now available on 6 additional ebook platforms! Here’s the blurb:

Dead ‘Til Dawn

Disturbing the dead doesn’t prove you’re brave – it proves you’re stupid.

After touring Gettysburg battlefield, Jessica, Tim, and Steve decide to sneak out to the Devil’s Den for some late-night fun. Jessica’s friend Kathy objects, and warns them about trespassing where they’re not wanted.

Undaunted by ghost stories and fueled by his own arrogance, Tim races toward the Devil’s Den. When the group drives through mysterious battlefield fog, they find themselves surrounded by Civil War soldiers looking for a little fun of their own.

Kathy leaves the others to fend for themselves and flees to Little Round Top. Although she’s rescued by a kindhearted Union solider named Charlie, she refuses to believe that what she’s experiencing is real. As the nighttime battle rages on, Charlie introduces Kathy to other weary soldiers, and she quickly realizes she’s trapped in the land of the dead until dawn.

Spend a night in the land of the dead in this 8,200-word ghost story set on the Gettysburg battlefield.

Reviewers loved this spooky story. Here’s what they have to say:
Fallen Over Book Reviews gives Dead Til Dawn a 5 Goblet Review: “This was a good ghost story. Gave me the chills a bit and makes me not want to visit anywhere where a battle has taken place. It does make you wonder if there are ghosts out there from battles long ago who cannot move and still live the battle every day. The author did a great job with descriptions and the characters. I hope the author keeps up with the ghost stories because she does a great job with them.” Read the full review here:  http://fallenoverbookreviews.blogspot.com/2015/10/review-and-guest-post-dead-til-dawn-by.html?zx=90de6c6cf1f728ba
A World of Books gives Dead Til Dawn 4 stars! “Another great ghost story by this author. It was very dramatic and a very interesting read. I loved the interaction between the characters. The setting was very atmospheric, I thought the descriptions were great and I could see the story unfold clearly in my mind.” Read the full review here: https://bookgeeking.wordpress.com/2016/01/10/r4r-dead-til-dawn/
Book-O-Craze rated it 3.5 Stars! “The way this author writes once again proved to be so smooth, with everything being well-described, as well as the appropriate details being given in all the right moments. At first, I was a bit skeptical of the concept of ghosts, but in this story everything was described in a way that didn't leave me any negative thoughts by the time I finished the story.” Read the full review here: http://book-o-craze.blogspot.gr/2015/10/blurb-disturbing-dead-doesnt-prove_29.html

And Now For… Something New!

Each month, I’ll leave readers with a writing prompt. Use it for a free-writing exercise, write a few paragraphs about it for fun, play the “what if” game, or just muse it over.

This month’s prompt is a piece of dialogue:

“I’ll keep you alive, for now. I want you to watch what happens next.”

Where can you take that phrase?

I hope you enjoyed this issue of the Quill. Next month, I’ll be sharing more about the re-release of my Amber Quill Press romances, info on You Can Write—Really!, a blog excerpt, and more. Feel free to share this newsletter with friends, family, and anyone who loves to read. You can also share & repost it on social media!

Happy Reading,
