Kelli's Quill Newsletter - Leap Year Issue

Kelli’s Quill
Leap Year Issue!
February 2016

Hi everyone,
In this issue, I’m sharing some special news about my Amber Quill Press romances, links to my horror fiction on new platforms, an interview, and more. Let’s get started!
Breaking Romance News
In spring 2016 I’m planning to re-release several of my Amber Quill Press romances. Why the re-release? Well, unfortunately, Amber Quill will cease publishing ebooks as of March 30, 2016. I’ve had a fantastic run with them over the last 10 years, and I’ve created some unique characters and great books.

But don’t worry, I’m not parting with my fictional children. All of my Amber Quill ebooks will be republished on Amazon and other platforms in 2016 and 2017. Stay tuned to my website, blog, social media, and (of course!) this newsletter for more information.

First up in the re-release department is the Royal Desires trilogy. This series of historical/fantasy romances is comprised of A Most Unusual Princess, Dalton’s Temptation, and The Pauper Prince. The books will be re-edited, re-titled, and released on Amazon Kindle with hot new covers.

You’ll still be able to purchase most of my Amber Quill titles on Amazon until March 30, 2016. Visit my Amazon author page to see the full title list:

Get Dead Til Dawn... on More Platforms

My horror novella, Dead Til Dawn is now available on 6 additional ebook platforms! Here’s the blurb:

Dead ‘Til Dawn

Disturbing the dead doesn’t prove you’re brave – it proves you’re stupid.

After touring Gettysburg battlefield, Jessica, Tim, and Steve decide to sneak out to the Devil’s Den for some late-night fun. Jessica’s friend Kathy objects, and warns them about trespassing where they’re not wanted.

Undaunted by ghost stories and fueled by his own arrogance, Tim races toward the Devil’s Den. When the group drives through mysterious battlefield fog, they find themselves surrounded by Civil War soldiers looking for a little fun of their own.

Kathy leaves the others to fend for themselves and flees to Little Round Top. Although she’s rescued by a kindhearted Union solider named Charlie, she refuses to believe that what she’s experiencing is real. As the nighttime battle rages on, Charlie introduces Kathy to other weary soldiers, and she quickly realizes she’s trapped in the land of the dead until dawn.

Spend a night in the land of the dead in this 8,200-word ghost story set on the Gettysburg battlefield.

Reviewers loved this spooky story. Here’s what they have to say:
Fallen Over Book Reviews gives Dead Til Dawn a 5 Goblet Review: “This was a good ghost story. Gave me the chills a bit and makes me not want to visit anywhere where a battle has taken place. It does make you wonder if there are ghosts out there from battles long ago who cannot move and still live the battle every day. The author did a great job with descriptions and the characters. I hope the author keeps up with the ghost stories because she does a great job with them.” Read the full review here:
A World of Books gives Dead Til Dawn 4 stars! “Another great ghost story by this author. It was very dramatic and a very interesting read. I loved the interaction between the characters. The setting was very atmospheric, I thought the descriptions were great and I could see the story unfold clearly in my mind.” Read the full review here:
Book-O-Craze rated it 3.5 Stars! “The way this author writes once again proved to be so smooth, with everything being well-described, as well as the appropriate details being given in all the right moments. At first, I was a bit skeptical of the concept of ghosts, but in this story everything was described in a way that didn't leave me any negative thoughts by the time I finished the story.” Read the full review here:

Each month, I’ll leave readers with a writing prompt. Use it for a free-writing exercise, write a few paragraphs about it for fun, play the “what if” game, or just muse it over.

This month’s prompt is a piece of dialogue:

“I’ll keep you alive, for now. I want you to watch what happens next.”

Where can you take that phrase?

You Can Write—Really! On more platforms

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing a bit about my non-fiction writing guide, You Can Write—Really! A Beginner’s Guide to Writing Fiction. If you’ve always dreamed of writing and getting published, but have no idea where or how to start—THIS is the book for you!

As an author of 95 short stories and 19 novels, I’m often asked: Where do you get your ideas? How do I get published? How do you write a book? What advice do you have for writers who are just starting out? Do you have any writing tips?

One day, I started thinking about everything I’ve learned over the years, and inspiration hit me: Why not write a book on how to write? The result? You Can Write—Really! A Beginner’s Guide to Writing Fiction.

Each easy-to-read chapter is:

·         Based on my 15 years of experience as a writer, advice I’ve received over the years, and the technical “know-how” I’ve gained in writing classes and workshops.

·         Loaded with practical instruction on how to create a story, step-by-step: from getting a great idea to meeting your characters, developing a plot, and on to writing, revising, and submitting your work.

·         Filled with helpful tips all writers can use, PLUS fun writing exercises to get you motivated!

And now, YOU CAN WRITE – REALLY! is available at B&N and on other platforms. Order your copy here:

Naughty Nobles - Historical/Fantasy Anthology

Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing news about my Amber Quill Press romance anthology, Naughty Nobles. Here's the book blurb:
Naughty Nobles
A tantalizing threesome with something for everyone!
If you always thought the nobility were prim and proper, think again! This collection of historical-fantasy erotica will have you longing for a remote castle of your own. Previously available only in electronic format, these steamy novellas and short stories have now been combined for a paperback edition. Included are the tales......

A Most Unusual Princess
A high-spirited princess who's not shy about sating her unfulfilled desires...
Princess Elara needs to find a royal husband, but claims that no man can satisfy her. Dalton, Elara's special guard, finds her unusual misbehaviors charming---and enthralling. Dalton's aloof manner intrigues Elara, and despite their differences, they share forbidden nighttime passions.
The Dark Lord
An anguished, mysterious Lord with a penchant for peeking...
Katarina, an innocent village girl, agrees to become Lord Sebestyen Adrik's latest companion, despite the dreadful rumors she has heard about him. When she arrives at his isolated castle high in the Carpathian Mountains, she discovers that the feared 'Dark Lord' is a troubled man haunted by a cursed past. Katarina is left alone with Lord Adrik every night. Will she become his next victim or find a way to cure him?
A Midsummer Night's Delights
A free-loving Marquis who always satisfies his guests' secret fantasies...
Young newlyweds Julian and Annabelle are miserable. Their arranged marriage is lacking everything--especially sex. Julian is harboring a secret urge, and Annabelle's longings go unnoticed, no matter what she tries. But all that changes when they are invited to the Marquis' Midsummer Ball. Their unconventional hosts, Vincent and Sabrina, introduce them to a world where their most intimate, hidden passions are explored. Swapping and naughty games are just a few of the surprises awaiting them.
I enjoy writing in different genres and romantic styles. Some stories in this anthology are intense and focus on fulfilling lustful cravings, while others touch on the awakening of desire. Naughty Nobles is a good mix of diverse characters, settings, and sexual discovery.  I had fun writing all three novellas and I hope readers enjoy them.
The stories will be available as individual ebooks until March 3, 3016. Read more about all 3 books on my site:
and catch up on all of my romances on my Amazon page:
